Wichita Foundation is constantly adapting to the needs of our growing donor base and emerging challenges in our backyard. Following the addition of new Board members announced earlier this year, WF continues to evolve our internal capacity to achieve our mission.
Growth in leadership
We’re thrilled to share the transition of two staff members:
Courtney Bengtson, formerly our director of strategic initiatives, was promoted to our chief strategy officer. Her evolved duties include executing the vision and framework for WF with a strong focus on the effective growth of our organization. Courtney will continue to integrate strategy and funding opportunities with her visionary mindset and systems-thinking approach.
James Woods, previously our director of nonprofit services, transitioned to director of nonprofit and donor connections. With his knowledge of the local nonprofit landscape, James is the connector for nonprofits, fund holders and community partners. He is also the go-to for grant engagement within WF, including all competitive grant rounds, programs and initiatives.
New Director of Philanthropy
Meghan Doyle joined our team as the director of philanthropy in November 2021. Her background in nonprofit fundraising and relationship building complements her personal goal to evoke positive change for individuals in our community. In her role, she will help build and manage WF’s philanthropic endowments and work with donors to help reach their charitable goals. Meghan will closely collaborate with James to align fund holders’ charitable wishes with nonprofits’ current needs.
A Wichita native and University of Kansas alumna, Meghan enjoys volunteering for nonprofits, including the National Kidney Foundation, Junior League of Wichita and Wichita Cancer Foundation. She spends her free time with family, dining at restaurants and cheering on her alma mater’s basketball team.
“The foundation continues to evolve in fund development, assets under management and impact to the community,” said WF President and CEO Shelly Prichard. “By strengthening our internal capacity, we are able to match these growing needs and prioritize exceptional service to our donors.”
