WF joins CFLeads Economic Mobility Action Network

September 26, 2024 | Stories

The Wichita Foundation (WF) is one of 10 community foundations selected to participate in CFLeads’ Economic Mobility Action Network (EMAN) intermediate cohort.

Funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, EMAN aims to help foundations from across the nation build and refine strategies for boosting economic mobility in their communities with a heightened focus on racial equity. As part of this initiative, WF will receive a capacity-building grant to further support its work. Throughout the year-long program, WF will expand its use of CFLeads’ five community leadership competencies, engage in peer learning, and develop an Economic Mobility Action Plan.

WF’s Upward Mobility initiative fosters collaboration with local organizations to strengthen the economy. Representing the Foundation in the cohort are WF staff members Shelly Prichard, Courtney Bengtson and Micaela Ramirez, along with WF board member LaShonda Garnes and community partner Adam Barlow-Thompson from the Neighboring Movement
